Julia Mouget has had a passion for premium shoes and luxurious materials ever since she wandered around in her parents’ shoe shop and her grand parents’ fur shop as a little girl.

The designer from Hamburg studied at the world-renowned Cordwainers College in London. She then went on to work at the famous gentlemen's shoemaker John Lobb. Working with premium welted shoes for many years has left a strong impression with Julia Mouget: “For me good shoe making is defined by clarity and simplicity in form and design, by perfection in the artisan craft of handling the wonderful material leather and by special attention to details.”

The sensuality of the materials lies at the centre of her collections. Mouget is enthusiastic about material: “Material is powerful. It sends us on a sensual journey.”

While living in London, Julia Mouget has developed a refined sense for trends. Up to this day the city is an important source of inspiration for her. Here, she finds ideas literally lying on the street as the classic British style merge with influences from around the world to create the individual looks of Londoners: the casual Brit Chic.

It sounds like a love story. And indeed it is one: Julia founded the label CRICK IT together with her husband Michael Mouget who heads the company and is in charge of marketing and distribution.
